Welcome to the orignal art gallery for Ben Towle
Ben Towle is an Eisner- and Ignatz-nominated cartoonist known primarily for his work published by San Jose, California’s SLG Publishing. His debut work for that publisher, Farewell, Georgia, a collection of Southern folk tales in comics form, was published in 2003 and he received an Eisner nomination that year in the category of "Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition."
His follow-up work, the historical fiction work Midnight Sun, was published in 2007 by SLG as a complete 136-page graphic novel. Midnight Sun has been featured in articles from Publishers Weekly, YASLA, Ain't it Cool News, Bookslut and more.
His work has also appeared in numerous anthologies and self-published volumes and he's done freelance cartooning and illustration work for clients including Condé Nast Publications, Brabender Cox, The Savannah Sand Gnats, Roman Peshoff and many others.
Ben is currently working on two major graphic novel projects: his own Oyster War, a raucous historical adventure set on the turn of the century Chesapeake Bay, and Amelia Earhart: This Broad Ocean, a biography of Amelia Earhart for Hyperion Books.
Ben is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
